Marketing Testing
PDF Print E-mail

Many organizations do not test their website content because it perceived to be extremely expensive. With Jentla employing some of the underlying genius of Joomla, statistically valid testing is possible to ascertain the impact of changes to text and images, colors, layout styles etc. in websites. Instead of paying many thousands of dollars for overly complex testing tools, sites built in Joomla and managed by Jentla can be tested at verey liittle additional cost.

Testing Simple sites

For largely static websites, Jentla works very well to support A/B Testing (Split testing). The tests can be completed by replicating a site, making a change to the second site and splitting site visitors using load balancing. This is a reliable way to help gauge the relative effectiveness of similar sites.

Testing complex sites

For more complex sites, changes are made using the Joomla template override process which allows simple A/B and quite complex multivariate testing. Log analysis is then completed using Nagios to create graphical reports.

About website testing

In internet marketing, multivariate testing requires numerous changes to be made to a site and then tested. A/B tests involve one change being tested at a time. Multivariate testing can theoretically test the effectiveness of limitless combinations. A/B tests are usually performed to determine the better of two content variations. The only limits on the number of combinations and the number of variables in a multivariate test are the amount of time it will take to get a statistically valid sample of visitors.

About Multi-variate Testing

Multivariate testing is usually used to find the content or creative variation which produces the best improvements. This might be for user registrations or successful completion of a checkout process (that is, conversion rate). Dramatic increases can be seen through testing different copy text, form layouts and even landing page images and background colors. Not all changes produce the same increase in conversions etc. By analysing the results from different tests, it is possible to identify the changes which consistently produce the greatest increase in conversion rates.

Jentla provides a simple and effective interface to manage both complex and simple testing regimes at a fraction of the cost of any comparable system.
